JOURNAL ENTRY AND OPINION

{¶ 1} Plaintiff-appellant, the state of Ohio (the "state"), appeals from the trial court's May 25, 2017 decision to grant defendant-appellee John Kafantaris's motion to dismiss the indictment based on preindictment delay. For the reasons that follow, we affirm.
