OPINION

DONOVAN, J.

{¶ 1} Defendant-appellant James B. Dawson appeals a decision of the Greene County Court of Common Pleas dismissing his petition for post-conviction relief. The trial court issued its opinion dismissing Dawson's petition on July 18, 2011. Dawson filed a timely notice of appeal with this Court on August 17, 2011.
