FROELICH, J.

{¶ 1} On August 9, 2001, Phillip H. Lawrence was convicted by a jury of two counts of murder, each with a firearm specification. The trial court sentenced him to a term of 15 years to life on each murder conviction and to three years on each firearm specification.
