¶{1} Defendant-appellant Donald Taylor appeals from his convictions entered in the Mahoning County Common Pleas Court after a bench trial. Appellant argues that the rape and kidnapping charges were allied offenses of similar import committed with separate animus and that his counsel was ineffective by failing to seek merger at sentencing.
