INTRODUCTION

{¶1} For about three years, Penny McFadden rented an apartment from Mike and Linda Riggle. When Ms. McFadden moved out, the Riggles discovered extensive damage due to cigarette smoke. The Riggles sued for the cost of cleaning the apartment and replacing the carpet. A magistrate ruled in favor of the Riggles, and the trial court adopted the magistrate's decision over Ms....
