Contrary to the defendant's contention, the County Court providently exercised its discretion in permitting the People to elicit evidence of his prior bad acts (see People v Molineux, 168 N.Y. 264 [1901]). Here, evidence that the defendant was selling drugs during and before the underlying incident completed the narrative of events, provided necessary background information...
