In January 2019, defendant was charged by indictment with rape in the first degree (two counts), criminal sexual act in the first degree and sexual abuse in the second degree. In satisfaction thereof, defendant pleaded guilty to one count of rape in the first degree and waived his right to appeal both orally and in writing. In accordance with the terms of the plea agreement, defendant was thereafter sentenced to a prison term of 10 years, to be followed by 20 years of postrelease...
