These consolidated actions arise from a three-car collision that occurred on December 12, 2011, when a car driven by defendant Jose Elias-Tejada stalled on the Throgs Neck Bridge. Paulina Cortorreal Hiciano, plaintiff Polanco's decedent (his wife), and plaintiffs Ramirez and Peralta were passengers in Elias-Tejada's car.
