The defendant was accused, inter alia, of engaging in acts of sexual conduct with a female child during the period of September 1, 2007, to January 23, 2009, when the child was less than 11 years old. The defendant and the child lived in the same apartment building, the defendant residing with the child's aunt on the second floor and the child living with her family on the first floor.
