After a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of criminal sexual act in the second degree, arising out of acts that occurred on September 23, 2012. On that date, the defendant, who was then 28 years old, induced the complainant, who was then 14 years old, to accompany him to a motel room, where he engaged in the proscribed conduct.
