Respondent is the unwed father of a son (born in 2002), who resided with his biological mother until August 2013, when he was removed from her custody and placed in the care and custody of petitioner. On October 7, 2014, petitioner commenced this proceeding to terminate respondent's parental rights on the ground of abandonment.
