The defendant, who was convicted of attempted murder in the second degree, upon his plea of guilty, seeks a reduction in his sentence, in the interest of justice, on the ground that it was excessive. During the plea allocution, the defendant purportedly waived his right to appeal, which waiver, if valid, would bar review of his claim that his sentence was excessive (see People v Lopez, 6 N.Y.3d 248...
