As the law of premises liability has developed in this state, it has moved inexorably, by statute and common law, in the direction of providing greater protection to persons on premises. This appeal presents us with an occasion to re-examine the common law as to the responsibility of out-of-possession landowners for injuries arising from dangerous conditions on leased premises.
