During a violent incident, defendant and codefendant Michael Deyo caused injuries to the victim that ultimately resulted in the victim's death. An indictment charged defendant with manslaughter in the first degree and assault in the first degree, alleging that he, either as principal or acting in concert with Deyo, struck the victim with a metal pipe, punched him in the head and stomped on his head.1 A jury convicted defendant...
