Petitioner was convicted in 1989 of assault in the second degree and was sentenced as a persistent violent felony offender to six years to life in prison. In 2004, he was released to parole supervision. He was subsequently convicted of additional criminal offenses and, as a result, his parole was revoked and a 12-month delinquent time assessment was imposed.
