In January 1985, petitioner was sentenced to two terms of 10 years to life, to run concurrently, for his convictions of two counts of robbery in the first degree. In April 1997, upon his convictions of robbery in the first degree and attempted robbery in the first degree, he was sentenced as a persistent violent felony offender to, among other terms, two terms of 25 years to life, to run consecutively. The sentencing court in 1997 was silent as to whether the new sentences...
