INTRODUCTION

The decree dissolving Helga K. Hohertz' marriage to Gene E. Hohertz obligated Gene to pay alimony until either he or Helga died and to name Helga as the beneficiary of $100,000 of his life insurance during such time "to secure [his] alimony obligation." Shortly before Gene's death, he changed the beneficiary to his new wife, and after his death, Helga obtained a summary judgment that she was entitled to $100,000 of the death benefit...
