¶ 1 In this matter, we consider whether the Court of Appeals erred by concluding that the trial court complied with the procedure implemented in N.C.G.S. § 15A-1201(d)(1) by the legislature for the trial court to consent to defendant's waiver of his right to a jury trial for the status offense of habitual felon.
