Jerrod Watlington (Watlington) was shot and killed on 11 August 2007 (the 2007 shooting). Evidence presented at trial showed that Watlington had spent the previous night of 10 August 2011 with Lester Slade (Slade) and Jennifer Small (Small) at their house (the house).
