Lamont Derrell Carter ("defendant") appeals from the trial court's denial of his motion to suppress evidence obtained during a warrantless search of his vehicle subsequent to arrest. Defendant asserts that the search did not fall within one of the exceptions for warrantless searches and thus violated his rights under the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution.
