Burness ("Burness"), Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Governmental Relations at Duke (collectively "defendants"), appeal the trial court's order denying their motion to stay proceedings pending arbitration. Pressler's ("plaintiff") obligation to arbitrate his claims against defendants for slander and libel was voided by the mutual release and settlement agreement...
