¶ 1. In March 2012, Michael Dees was convicted in the Desoto County Circuit Court of possession of morphine in an amount less than ten grams but more than two grams. Due to his prior convictions, he was sentenced as a habitual offender. He is currently serving an eight-year sentence in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), without eligibility for early release or a reduction in his sentence.
