¶ 1. Honda Downs sued Dr. Peter Ackerman for injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle collision when Dr. Ackerman rear-ended Downs. Dr. Ackerman admitted liability, and the case went to trial on damages. The jury awarded Downs $20,000; the trial court denied Downs's motion for an additur or a new trial.
