PIERCE, Justice, for the Court:

¶ 1. Verina Childs ("Verina") was convicted of murdering her husband, Douglas Childs ("Doug"), on August 4, 2011, following a four-day jury trial. She was sentenced to life imprisonment in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC). After her conviction, Verina filed a motion for a new trial, which was denied. Verina now appeals from the judgment of the Circuit Court of Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.
