¶ 1. Donald Mark Edwards appeals his life sentence. A jury convicted him of possession of oxycodone and acetaminophen. Finding Edwards had been convicted of three prior felonies, two for simple assault on police officers, the circuit court followed the mandate of Mississippi Code Annotated section 99-19-83 (Rev.2007) and sentenced Edwards to life imprisonment without eligibility for parole or probation.
