¶ 1. Thomas Hasselle struck and injured his wife, Shirley Hasselle, with the couple's automobile. The Hasselles were both named insureds under an automobile insurance policy issued by Alfa Insurance Corporation (Alfa). The insurance adjuster for Alfa offered the Hasselles a $40,000 settlement on the claim, but the couple refused the offer. Alfa subsequently realized its initial offer was a mistake as the terms of the liability-coverage...
