¶ 1. On May 27, 2009, in the Madison County Circuit Court, Jessie Beal pleaded guilty to one count of statutory rape. Beal was sentenced to serve twenty-seven years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Beal subsequently filed a motion for post-conviction relief.
