¶ 1. David Alford signed an "independent contractor agreement" with Sun Vista, Inc. and began work on a construction crew. He later filed a claim for unemployment benefits with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES), reporting that he was an employee of Sun Vista for about two months during late 2006. The central issue before us is whether Alford was Sun Vista's "employee" within the meaning of Mississippi Code Annotated...
