Shumaera Rance filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of Humphreys County against Dr. Sidney Carlton Gorton, Dr. Daisy Thomas, Humphreys County Memorial Hospital (HCMH), and John Does 1-5 for the wrongful death of her ten-month-old son, Dexter Jordan, Jr. Dr. Gorton filed a motion for summary judgment that alleged he was employed by Greenwood Leflore Hospital, an entity covered by the Mississippi Tort Claims Act (MTCA)....
