¶ 1. A jury convicted Justin David Shaffer of the exploitation of a child by solicitation for the purpose of engaging in sexually explicit conduct under Mississippi Code Annotated section 97-5-33(6) (Rev.2006). The circuit court judge then sentenced Shaffer to serve twenty-five years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) without the possibility of parole, and he was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
