Anthony Tucker was indicted for possession of stolen property with a value of over $500 in violation of Mississippi Code Annotated section 97-17-70 (Rev. 2006), which was amended to add habitual-offender status pursuant to Mississippi Code Annotated section 99-19-81 (Rev. 2007). Following a jury trial on October 3-5, 2007, a guilty verdict was returned, and Tucker was sentenced as a habitual offender to ten years in the custody...
