¶ 1. A Bolivar County jury found James Arthur Fannings, Jr., guilty of murdering his girlfriend, Stacey Hazelton (Stacey). The trial judge sentenced Fannings to life imprisonment in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) without eligibility for parole.
