A jury found Shawn C. Hanna ("Defendant") guilty of first-degree murder for the November 2003 shooting death of his father, Ralph Hanna ("Father").1 The State did not seek the death penalty, and Defendant was sentenced by the trial court to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
