Appellant Jill Rosito (Mother) and Respondent Mario Rosito (Father) were married in Topeka, Kansas, in the summer of 2000. The couple lived briefly in Kansas City, where Mother had spent most of her adult life. In the fall of 2000, they relocated to Guatemala City in Guatemala, Father's birthplace.
