Mortgagee Deutsche Bank foreclosed the mortgage on Philip and Janet Hanson's home and bought the house at a sheriff's sale. The Hansons filed a federal lawsuit claiming Deutsche Bank's mortgage was invalid, and Deutsche Bank brought an eviction action in district court in St. Louis County. The Hansons moved to stay the eviction proceeding, arguing that their federal claims regarding the validity of their mortgage were a necessary component...
