Appellant, a former graduate student at respondent university, brought this action in conciliation court, seeking $6,755.23 in tuition refunds. The conciliation court dismissed her claim, and she removed the matter to district court, where she sought to amend her complaint to join the university's president as a defendant and to add claims of breach of contract, promissory estoppel, and violations of due process.
