On May 23, 2007, a Ramsey County jury found appellant Larry Demetrius Pearson guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, in violation of Minn.Stat. § 609.185(a)(1) (2008), second-degree intentional murder, in violation of Minn.Stat. § 609.19, subd. 1(1) (2008), and the unlawful possession of a firearm, in violation of Minn.Stat. § 624.713, subd. 1 (2008), for his involvement in the death of Corodarl Merriman.
