On June 18, 2008, the Director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility (Director) filed a petition charging respondent Barton Carl Winter with one count of professional misconduct. The petition alleges that Winter knowingly made a false statement of fact to a tribunal and to another attorney in the course of representing a client and failed to correct the false statement.
