On May 25, 2007, a Wilkin County jury found appellant Daniel Leonard Anderson (Anderson) guilty of first-degree murder while committing domestic abuse, Minn. Stat. § 609.185(a)(6) (2008), and second-degree felony murder, Minn.Stat. § 609.19, subd. 2(1) (2008), for the death of A.G., the one-year-old son of his girlfriend.
