This medical malpractice case arises from a colonoscopy performed by defendant Manuel Sklar, M.D., on plaintiff's decedent, Effie Taylor. During the procedure, Dr. Sklar observed lesions in Taylor's colon that he believed were arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
