Defendant appeals as of right his jury trial convictions of first-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC), MCL 750.520b(1)(a) (victim under 13 years of age), and second-degree CSC, MCL 750.520c(1)(a) (victim under 13). Because defendant was denied the effective assistance of counsel during both the pretrial and trial proceedings and the cumulative effect of the trial errors denied him a fair trial, we vacate his convictions and sentences and remand to the...
