On September 23, 2008, appellants, Giuseppina, Tom, and David Muti, filed a complaint in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, naming appellee, University of Maryland Medical System Corporation ("UMMS"), as the sole defendant and claiming three counts of wrongful death and one count of medical negligence as a survival action. On August 31, 2009, appellee moved to dismiss appellants' wrongful death claims and, in the alternative, for summary judgment...
