In this case, we must determine whether a Circuit Court erred in consulting nonlegislative guidelines as an aid when determining the amount and duration of an alimony award pursuant to Md. Code (1984, 2006 Repl. Vol.), Section 11-106 of the Family Law Article ("FL"). We hold that the consultation of guidelines promulgated by a reliable and neutral source that do not conflict with or undermine any of the considerations expressed in the statute is permissible...
