Arthur Pereschuk, in July of 2007, owned a two-year-old Labrador Retriever named Bristol.1 Mr Pereschuk and his dog lived in a rural area of Washington County near the appellant, Jeffrey Hurd. Also living nearby was Mr. Pereschuk's son-in-law, James Randolph. Randolph owned a German Shepherd named Harley.
