This appeal arises from the death of twenty-seven year old Adrian Tyree Bennett ("Adrian") from septic shock on April 23, 2003. A jury sitting in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City found that appellant, Shoaib A. Hashmi, M.D., was negligent in his care and treatment of Adrian and that his negligence caused Adrian's death.
