In January 2008, appellant, Nathaniel W. Addison Jr., was tried by jury in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County and convicted of first-degree assault and wearing and carrying a dangerous weapon. The jury hung as to the charge of attempted murder, with the State later entering a nolle prosequi on that count, subsequent to sentencing.
