We issued a writ of certiorari in this case to determine whether a nonresident decedent's foreign estate is subject to being haled into court in Maryland, for a tort allegedly committed by the decedent during his lifetime in the District of Columbia, solely on the jurisdictional basis that the appointed personal representative of the estate happens to be a Maryland resident who was served with process at his residence.
