Jeffson Charles, the defendant, was convicted of unlawfully carrying a firearm, G. L. c. 269, § 10(a), and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, G. L. c. 269, § 10(n). He was also found in violation of the armed career criminal statute, G. L. c. 269, § 10G(a). The jury acquitted him of unlawful possession of ammunition. See G. L. c. 269, § 10(h).
