The defendant, Kris N. Ferreira, was convicted by a Superior Court jury in April, 2008, of unarmed robbery of a person sixty years of age or older, G. L. c. 265, § 19(a); and, following a bench trial, was found guilty of being an habitual offender. The defendant argues that the trial judge erred in denying his motion for a required finding of not guilty, and that he received ineffective assistance...
