After a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of assault and battery in violation of G. L. c. 265, § 13A, and was sentenced to one year of supervised probation. On appeal he claims that the judge's jury instruction on self-defense, and the prosecutor's closing argument, created a substantial risk of a miscarriage of justice.
